Lethe Guard is a redaction utility, not a data hoard. This page describes how we handle content on letheguard.com when you use the app, upload files, or sign in with email.
What Lethe Guard does with your content
Lethe Guard processes files and text so you can review findings and export a safe copy. We do not use your content to train models. We do not sell your data.
Retention
Uploads and session findings expire within 24 hours of upload or last activity. Export downloads use signed links that expire in about 1 hour. Magic sign-in links expire in 15 minutes and are single-use. You can clear your session immediately with "Clear all."
Original files
Your original upload is never modified on disk. Export always produces a new artifact. Deleting or expiring a session removes the server copy of your upload.
Redaction vs masking
Redaction in an export is permanent in that file—you cannot recover redacted bytes from the download. Masking preserves structure (e.g. partial email) but still produces a new file; treat exports as shareable only after your review.
Security
Data in transit uses TLS. Stored uploads use encryption at rest on our object storage. Access is limited to processing workers and expires automatically.
Accounts and billing
If you create an account, we store email and subscription status. Payment is handled by our processor; we do not store card numbers.
