- What is the difference between masking and redaction?
- Redaction permanently removes or replaces content in the export—you cannot recover it. Masking obscures data while keeping structure, such as j***@domain.com.
- Does Lethe Guard support screenshots and scanned PDFs?
- Yes. Pro includes OCR. We detect text in images and scanned pages, show overlays for review, then export a safe copy.
- Is the original file modified?
- No. Lethe Guard works on a copy in your session. Export produces a new file; your upload remains unchanged until you delete it or it expires.
- How long are files stored?
- Uploads and findings typically expire within 24 hours. Exports use short-lived download links. See Privacy for exact periods.
- Is this for technical users only?
- No. Paste and review is enough for most people. Developers get JSON, logs, and token detection without extra setup.
